The Connector LLC ("The Connector," "we," "us") operates a campus community app for verified university students. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do not do with it.
The short version: we collect what the app needs to work. We do not sell your information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
When you create an account and use The Connector, we collect:
.edu address from a supported campus. This is how we confirm you are a student and how we send you account and security messages.Faith groups. If you join a church group in The Connector, we store that membership. It is shown only to other members of that same group and to The Connector's operator for moderation. You can leave a group at any time, and leaving removes it.
All of this is linked to your account. We use it to operate the app — nothing more.
We do not track you. We do not link your information with third-party data for advertising, we do not share it with data brokers, and we do not serve advertising in the app.
Other students see your name, your profile photo, and content you choose to post. On open boards such as Market and Rides, your name is displayed in shortened form.
Your phone number and other contact details are not public. They are shared only with students you connect with, or with a student who contacts you about something you posted.
We share information with service providers who help us operate the app — our hosting and database provider, our email delivery provider, and our error-monitoring provider. They process this information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
We may disclose information if required by law, or where we believe it is necessary to protect someone's safety or to investigate fraud or a violation of our Terms.
Partner accounts (local businesses). If you create a partner account for a business, we collect your name, your email address and your password (held by our sign-in provider, never readable by us). We also collect what you tell us about your business: its name, kind, area and address, opening hours and logo, and the deals you post (the offer, the days and hours it runs, and its end date). We review every deal before students see it. Once your page and a deal are approved, verified students on your campus see your business's name, its area or address, and the deal.
As a partner you see only totals: how many students redeemed a deal, when (as times, never as people), and how many times a deal's page was opened. We never show a partner who redeemed or opened a deal, and the count of opens is stored with nothing that identifies who opened it.
You can delete your partner account at any time in Settings → Delete account. That deletes your account and your business page and ends your deals; students stop seeing them at once. A record that a student redeemed a deal stays on that student's side, without your account, so their own history does not break. We do not sell partner data. Nothing is sold in the app.
Housing listings and interest. If you are a student and tap "I'm interested" on a listing, the owner of that listing receives: your first name and the initial of your last name, the email address of your account, your phone number only if you switched "Add my phone" on and have one on your profile, how you asked to be reached (email or a phone call), whether you want a tour or the details, and how many of you there are. Nothing else about you is shared: not your full name, not your profile, not your classes. Nothing is typed, so there is no message to keep. You can send to the same listing again, and the owner sees only your newest choices. You can send to at most ten listings a day. If you delete your account, every interest you sent is deleted with it.
If you are a housing owner with a partner account, we collect what you tell us about each listing: its name and address, the kind of place, the floor plans (beds, baths, price per person and how many are left), minutes to campus, the lease dates, what rent includes, the deposit and the photos you upload, plus the phone number and website you choose to show. We review every listing before students see it. Once your page and a listing are approved, verified students on your campus see the listing, its photos, your business's name and, after they send interest, the phone and website you entered. You see the interested students as described above, and only for your own listings. Deleting your partner account deletes your page, your listings, their photos and every interest sent to them.
Every listing, rental, and ride post is reviewed by our team before other students can see it. This means we read what you submit to a board before it publishes.
Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to student data is restricted at the database level, so students can only reach what they are permitted to see. Passwords are stored hashed — we never see them — and are checked against known breach databases so a compromised password cannot be reused here.
No system is perfect, and we do not claim ours is. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us immediately.
We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your profile and content within 30 days, except where we are required to keep records longer by law.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your information. Contact us and we will honor them.
The Connector is for users 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for significant changes we will notify you in the app.
