The Connector exists so students can find their people — the classmates in your sections, the stuff you need for your dorm, and a ride when you need one. It works because everyone here is real: every student verifies through their university email, and a person reviews every listing before another student sees it. These guidelines keep it that way.
Be yourself. One account, your real identity, your real schedule. Impersonating someone, running multiple accounts, or joining classes you're not actually in breaks the app for everyone.
Respect people. No harassment, bullying, hate, threats, or targeting anyone — in profiles, listings, ride posts, or anywhere else. Disagreement is fine. Cruelty isn't.
Guard each other's privacy. Contact details unlock only when both people choose to connect — that's enforced at the database. Don't share someone else's information, or anything they haven't chosen to make visible.
Keep it clean and legal. No sexual content, graphic violence, or anything promoting illegal activity, self-harm, or dangerous behavior.
Sell honestly. Describe items accurately, price them yourself, and follow through on what you agree to. Don't list anything you don't own or don't have the right to sell.
Alcohol, tobacco, nicotine, and vaping products. Weapons, firearms, ammunition, and firearm components. Prescription medication and devices requiring a prescription. Government-issued identification. Counterfeit or stolen goods. Live animals. Academic work offered for someone else's submission. Anything unlawful.
Every post is reviewed before it publishes, and anything on this list is denied.
Rides is a bulletin board. The Connector doesn't dispatch drivers, doesn't match anyone, doesn't set or collect fares, and doesn't screen anyone's driving record, license, or insurance. Verifying that someone is a student is not a safety check, and you shouldn't treat it as one.
Use your judgment. You decide whether to offer or accept a ride, and you're responsible for your own safety. Tell someone where you're going. If something feels wrong, don't get in the car.
Every profile, listing, and ride post has a Report option, and you can block anyone — it works both directions, instantly. Reports go to a person. We can remove content, suspend accounts, or ban repeat offenders, and suspensions take effect immediately, including on active sessions. If you think we got one wrong, email tommy@theconnector.group and a person will look again.
Be real, be decent, don't ruin it. This app exists to make a big campus feel smaller in the best way — help us keep it that way.
